![]() ![]() A life long fan of Captain Canuck, Martin is the curator of The Unofficial Yet Definitive Captain Canuck Comicography website. Martin Boruta has been reading and collecting comics for over 40 years. Writers: Donocan Yaciuk & Others | Art: Shane Nitzsche, Ryan Howe & Others Title: Spacepig Hamadeus #4 | Publisher: Ronin Studios Spacepig Hamdeus and the Captive Planet is currently available at and if you are lucky enough to be in and around Winnipeg you can get copies at The Comic Factory IV at 306 Notre Dame Ave. I’ll be ordering in this issue and the rest of the series for sure. And the final story by Chadwick Ginther and Nyco Rudolph, The Great Martian Train Robbery follows the renegade Bot with No Name as he hunts for satellite up-link codes that could spell doom for Tremb’axx The Conqueror.Ī cast of pleasantly ridiculous characters and four fun stories full of adventure. Rasslin’ Business by Chad Derworski and James Zintel is next up as we expand on the adventures in the gladitorial games of Tremb’axx The Conqueror. “Can Madelyn Reese and Dr Benjamin Hayden save Earth from the Torguu, the ancient undersea menace spawned by science in an atomic maelstrom of destruction?” Spacepig Hamadeus and the Captive Planet Interior Page In the first backup feature we again have Donovan Yaciuk writing and Ryan Howe providing the art in Torguu the Tentacled Terror. High quality art from Shane Nitzsche and Ryan Howe really brings the story together. We follow Spacepig as he gets involved with a slave rebellion amongst the space gladiators that he finds himself a part of after awakening from his crash landing. Being the fourth book in the series I’m sure I am missing a little bit here or there but Donovan Yaciuk’s story unfolds like a chapter of an oldies Matinee Serial and is easily enjoyable on its own. And does so without resorting to slapstick or satire. You all know I’m a sucker for fun, quirky books like Jason Loo’s The Pitiful Human-Lizard. With the main first issue, we catch up with Spacepig Hamadeus who has barely survived an assault on his space ship, the XT-47, at the Hourglass Sea of Mars, Hamadeus now must face Tremb’axx The Conqueror and his evil army, on the Captive Planet! Spacepig Hamadeus and the Captive Planet is an expanded 48 page issue featuring the title story and three backup stories, Torguu the Tentacled Terror, Rasslin’ Business and The Great Martian Train Robbery.
